Our Mission
The purpose of Central Avenue Bilingual Preschool is to prepare
Spanish-speaking preschool children in Charlotte Mecklenburg to be successful in
school and life by teaching them English in the classroom, and by connecting their
families with community resources that will help them successfully operate and
advance within an English-speaking culture.

Central Avenue Bilingual Preschool (CABP) was created in 1999 as a member of
the Alliance of Part-Day Preschools for Children and Families at Child Care
Resources, Inc., to address the needs of the Hispanic/Latino families in the east
Charlotte area.  Many Hispanic/Latino children enter school with few or no quality
preschool experiences in addition to the language barrier.  CABP serves primarily
but not exclusively the growing population of Hispanic/Latino families of
immigrants in the Central Avenue area who are eligible for subsidized child care
and whose primary language is not English.
